The NBA 2K22 release date

On the surface, NBA 2K22 looks exactly like the NBA 2K19 title. That’s right, the cover art is the same, and everything in-game feels almost exactly the same. The only difference is that players now have the option to choose from a selection of hairstyles, eye color, and skin tone. This change makes the game more diverse and includes more options for players of diverse skin color.

On August 30, NBA 2K22 released a one-minute, 35-second gameplay trailer. It’s low on real upgrades, focusing instead on new animations, face likenesses, and massive dunks — albeit it all looks amazing. You may view it right now:

The NBA 2K22 game features new content every season

If you love the NBA 2K19 game, you’ll love the NBA 2K22 game just as much. The updates and content you get this season will be exclusively for the new title. There are no preseason competitions, no re-releases, and no DLC. That’s right, NBA 2K22 will be completely new this season.

There will be preseason competitions

The NBA 2K22 preseason competition features some familiar faces like LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, and Klay Thompson. It will also feature a number of new players, including Kevin Durant and Kawhi Leonard. Both are expected to make a quick return after being out of action earlier this month. The re-releases of NBA 2K19 and NBA 2K20 each featured preseason competitions, so it’s likely that will continue in NBA 2K22.

The re-release of the original game will come with a retail version

Last but not least, NBA 2K22 will come with a retail version. This will include the original game as well as a variety of expansion packs and Imran’s NBA 2K Room Guide. Like all re-releases, it will have a free expansion for all the hype. So, if you love the original game but want to play it in its full splendor, the retail version is for you.

A digital PC and console releases are also planned

Yes, we’re still waiting for the Nintendo Switch version of NBA 2K22 to come to American shores. This game will be released digitally on October 5, and then a physical version will follow a few weeks later. The exact release dates for both games will be revealed at a later date, but we’re guessing it will be around the same time.

NBA 2K23 is still a ways off

It’s been a while since NBA 2K23 was released, and we’re still waiting for a re-release. This isn’t the case anymore, as NBA 2K23 will be coming to the Xbox One and PS4 on October 24. It will also come with a digital download version, but that’s also expected to come very soon.

Let’s see what everyone thinks of the re-release!

So far, we’re pretty excited about the NBA 2K22 re-release. The creative direction looks fantastic, and the game feels more like a real-time action game than ever before. The new team and player models are great and all, and there are a few smaller things that didn’t work for us, but from what we’re seeing, the NBA 2K22 re-release is a fantastic, quality game. The ratings for the original game were just amazing. The cover art, storyline, and overall experience were fun and engaging. Plus, NBA 2K19 didn’t even come with a competitive mode! That’s right, NBA 2K19 is coming to the Classic mode, and it’s going to be even more fun this season thanks to the new Cavaliers. We also love the ability to create and share their own playlists with the new player features. We can create our own playlists and share them with the world, which will be super exciting. All in all, NBA 2K22 feels like the best version of basketball yet, and we’re excited to see what the NBA 2K23 team does with it.
